Rules & Eligibility

  • Products must have been manufactured and introduced to the market between September 2011 and August 2012.
  • Due to the comprehensive nature of this competition, we *do* accept products that have been awarded and/or are part of another competition.
  • There is no limit to the number of products entered to the competition.

    Please note: product categories may be renamed, consolidated, or eliminated and products may be reassigned at the editors’ discretion.
  • Fees: $300/entry AND per category.
    (e.g. one product entered into two categories is $300 x 2 = $600)
  • Best of Year Product Design finalists will be selected by interior designers and architects via an online vote in October.
  • Finalists will be posted at InteriorDesign.net/boyawards in November.
  • Winners will be chosen by editor in chief Cindy Allen and a jury of design leaders, and announced live November 29 during a celebration in New York City. Winners will be featured in the December issue of Interior Design.

Key Dates

  • September 17: deadline for product submissions
  • October: designers will be invited to vote on their favorites during a two-week voting period in October. Exact dates are forthcoming.
  • November: Finalists will be posted at InteriorDesign.net/boyawards
  • November 29: Live Best of Year awards event

Requirements

You must upload a digital product image, 300dpi high resolution, .jpg or .tif file, for reproduction at 4" x 5" minimum, and smaller than 3MB.

Rules & Eligibility

Requirements

You will need to upload a .zip file (max. size 3MB) containing all of the following items:
  • Any press release or other accompanying documentation about the project
  • List of Complete Project Team Members, including titles
  • List of Primary Sources (manufacturer names for each product category)
You must also send the following material:
  • All available images pertaining to project (8.5” x 11” printouts or photographs)
      *Contact sheets will NOT be accepted

    Please label each item on the back with firm name, project name, and photo credit
  • A CD containing
        Digital images at 300 dpi high resolution jpg files for reproduction at 8” x 10” MINIMUM
        Microsoft Word document containing description, project team, and source lists

    PLEASE NOTE: ENTRY MATERIALS WILL NOT BE RETURNED

2. Mail in materials (including images of the project)
